Well, I'm sorry for the delay about this Japan Expo report, but i have been really busy in these days.

Anyway here the report:

Finally a french convention where was possible to find person of the staff that spoke english, in general in France is difficult to have all infos about stands position, badges and other, cos really few ppl talk english.

Anyway, at JE being the biggest convention in Europe, almost all ppl of the staff can talk in english, to has been really simple to find the place.

While a quite difficult has been to find a parking for the car, cos even if we had a place reservation in exhibitors parking, it was almost full, also cos some persons putted its car in bad way, so the first day in particular has been really hard to find a free space.

About the location of the fanzines, well they werent in a so sublime place, but fine, the number of the stands was really high, and there were exhibitors from various european countries.

The convention was located in 3 space, really big, anyway in my opinion the space wasnt so good distributed, so some young artist was finished together the Gothic Lolita shops, and this could make vanished them, cos the ppl was just interested in the Gothic dresses and not in arts.

Also the part with the Booths with the official materieal, werent really good located, honestly put the massage point near the shops, maybe isnt the most right thing.

Anyway the convention had also particular booths, as that of the massages that I said before, but also particular dedicated to the Japanese Cooking (I want to thanks my friend Callichi that said me about the booth of the Takoyaki, finally I could eat a takoyaki made not by myself!) and also other dedicated to the tea and art martial and Japanese culture and meditation.

In general in various french conventions there are this kind of booths, but at the JE they number was really higher than the other conventions.

About Game section, honestly I saw few it, cos I had to stay at my booth, but it seemed big, but with few stuffs.

About the cosplay contest, well i dont know, cos I avoid to take part at it for personal reasons, anyway I can say something about the quality of the costumes that I saw around for the conv.

Honestly I noticed and not only me, but also other persons confirmed this, that the quality was decreased, many cosplay but with dresses sewed bad, with the wrong fabrics and colors..and also the wig...plz dont remember me those! Many wigs were really ugly, when with few dollars you can buy nice wig on ebay, or also persons without wig...honestly I understand that the wig are expensive, but exist also aquacolor, so dye your hair...Sorry but to see a Amu of Shugo Chara with black hair has been quit shocking.

Anyway about the official material that you could find in convention...it was really few, or better there was many for the same common series as Bleach, One Piece, Naturo etc. but if you wanted something of more particular, was almost impossible to find it.

The only booths that sold different stuffs were from other countries and not french.

Anyway this thing of the common series seem to be quit disturbing, various fanzine to sell stuffs, make things dedicated at this series. Honestly I dislike to make something of a thing, that maybe I dont know, but just cos it is famous.

Anyway the amount of ppl fan of this common series is really high, seem that today the ppl dont understand nothing outside of those 4 or 5 series, that the media make appear at they eyes as the best of animation, when in the realty there are many other series better than those, but that they are without publicity, so the ppl dont know them.

This is really sad thing, that seem increase in France, Italy, Netherlands and etc.
I agree that you can be a fan of this common and commercial series, but I think that also to have a bit of culture in the other series could be a nice thing.

The same is for the cosplay world, seem that lately the ppl make only cosplay of Naruto...there are many other great series that you can cosplay!

Honestly i dislike the things really commercial, is for this reason that I stopped to make FMA cosplay, there were a lot of cosplay, so no thanks, I dont want to be a 1 of the milion of Edward in the world...So when the series is became famous I stop with that.

I like already FMA, just I know that there are many other great series.
Anyway this is only my opinion about this thing that are happening in European Conventions.

Anyway for this thing, the exhibitor that sell original stuff or fanarts from other things, have hard life, if the things will continue in this way, surely in the future we have only booth with main series stuffs and not other things, and this will cut the legs at many young artists.

And now about the place of the convention, yep as i said it was big...but unluckily really away from Paris, so for the exhibitors and visitors find a place with a good food was terrible.
But the thing that shocked me a lot, has been that the restaurant were close the Sunday.OO nver I saw this...also in Amstelveen that the restaurants close early never Is saw close them Sunday.

Anyway this is my JE Report, Plz dont ask me about my sales or my booth, cos I dont want to talk about this, I'm still in art crisis so I would like to avoid to talk about this.
